For Atlanta By Atlanta (FABA) is a youth-founded, community philanthropic foundation committed to eradicating poverty across Metro Atlanta. We raise and invest funds directly into grassroots organizations and emerging leaders who are on the frontlines of change but oftentimes are overlooked by traditional big money foundations.
OUR HISTORY
Born From Community, Built for Change.
For Atlanta By Atlanta was built on a simple but powerful belief: when communities come together, they can take care of their own. In 2023, FABA’s founders first joined forces as student leaders at Georgia State University, where they helped raise more than $15,000 for the university’s Emergency Assistance Fund. That experience revealed what is possible when people rally around neighbors facing real financial hardship, and it became the foundation of the organization’s long-term commitment to community-centered giving.
Inspired by that early momentum, For Atlanta By Atlanta officially launched in 2025 to create a lasting model for grassroots philanthropy across metro Atlanta. By December 2025, the organization proudly distributed its first round of Community Investments, placing resources directly into the hands of local organizations fighting poverty every day. What began as a student-led effort has grown into a movement rooted in trust, equity, and the belief that Atlanta’s communities are strongest when they invest in one another.
